There is a specific form for each type of obstacle/structure, fill in the correct form obtained from ATNS Obstacle assessment website (e.g Mast, Solar, Wind Energy Facility), .kmz file,

Q2 : I am applying for one conditional approval, do I still need to complete the Bulk Submission of Obstacle Applications?

Answer :

Yes, The bulk Submission of Obstacle Applications is required by the SACAA in order to update the database of ALL obstacle within RSA.

Q3 : Where can I find the ground elevation for my project site?

Answer :

The services of a surveyor can be used. Alternatively, Google earth also shows the ground elevation when hovering over a point.

Q4 : What format should the coordinates be in?

Answer :

: Degrees, Minutes and Seconds, in addition the applicable form does provide an example of the correct format for the required data.

Q5 : I need a progress update on my project, how can I get one?

Answer :

: Send an email toObstacles@atns.co.za requesting a progress update. Please ensure that your project name is listed

Q6 : if my project is with the SACAA, who can I speak to in order to get an update?

: ATNS is the applicant on behalf of the client. The SACAA will not provide the client with updates. Send an email to Obstacles@atns.co.za who will follow up with the SACAA.
